She's Ready

(Sorry for the commercial. But it's worth waiting for.)

  1. Oh my goodness, I can't wait to see Biden debating her, except that I do feel a little bit sorry for her. You know, she *could* have turned McCain down, had the media swarm all over her for it, and thus given herself the national exposure she craved plus the time to learn better how to live up to it.

  2. OMG, it makes me feel ill to see her... uh, um, uh, you know...

I would have thought all this time of hiding was put to good use. Can't the Republicans afford to hire handlers and professional coaches for their VP candidate? At the very least she could join toastmasters for some hints on public speaking.

    *yikes*

  3. This isn't serious . . . right?

  4. anon: well, SHE'S serious! And it's serious for us all if she gets elected and... I can't even say it.

  5. Oh! Thought about emigrating? The weather's much nicer here and we would be happy to have you! (added bonus: I'm pretty sure most of our politicians passed primary school geography) :)

  6. anon: when Bush was elected the first time, I was outraged. The second time, despondent. If McPalin were elected I know I'd find it immeasurably worse: a county that could rationalize her, and not see through him would seriously challenge me. If I were a person of honor (remains to be seen), I'd leave.

  7. Uh, well, I guess you could say she's about as eloquent as Dubya?

  8. Not a shining moment...but there is a lot of good footage too.

I am very much looking forward to the debate!

  10. @ bongi:

It's highly debatable whether George W Bush was EVER elected through fair and legal means. *grin*

@ Sid: to cheer you up: Laurence Tribe is on the speaking circuit for his new book, The Invisible Constitution. He's the Harvard Law School Constitutional law scholar who has argued before the Supremes 36 times. His favorite student out of all 7500 that he's had - Barack Obama. He mused last evening that Chief Justice Roberts was also a Con Law student of his and how surreal, but wonderful, it will be to have Roberts swear in Obama. (Obama was one of his research assistants.)

Lastly - I had undergraudate nursing students rarely who spoke like Palin. They were the inevitably plagiarizing, cheating unethical oddballs who FAILED the course. I see that other professors posting in the blogosphere have noted the same attributes in what she's saying and how she's saying it.

It's not acceptable to talk around a subject and pretend to know when it's obvious that you don't - a total absence of personal accountability and integrity. In the case of nursing, that will invariably lead to preventable morbidity and mortality.

Her answers, if they were medical outcomes, would not be paid for performance.

She's one big FAIL - and a lying sneaky one at that.
