Say It Ain't So, Joe

  1. I'm sure you've heard about Joe the 'not really a plumber' now has a publicist.

    What's next? Reality TV?

    God help us all.

  2. How dare a plumber try to ask a great man a question! Plumbers don't go to Harvard!

  3. anonymous: surprise!! You entirely miss the point. The question was asked, Obama gave a lengthy and detailed and respectful answer, four words of which have been taken as the entire meaning. Joe himself later agreed that under Obama's plan, he'd get a tax break, and that his question was based on a false premise.

No one is questioning Joe's right to ask a question. Some are ignoring the answer that he received; others are, rightly, pointing out that Joe is not who he said he was. I'm just pointing out that there's nothing in Obama's plans that is socialism, any more than there is in McCain's, although they both voted for a quasi-socialistic bailout.

Your comment is typical of the Republican attack: claiming elitism when a person speaks intelligently; changing the subject; and missing the point.

  4. He's not a plumber? His name isn't Joe? He isn't trying to buy a business? Which of those is wrong?

We know way more than anyone has a right to know because an Obama thug rifled through his confidential records. And yes, we know that she is an Obama contributor--maybe even one of the few legal ones.

And me--I'm just a dumb Republican. You're right about that. I probably don't have the right to ask questions either. Only the smart ones--Democrats--should run the country.

  5. well, he doesn't have a plumber's license. He makes around 40K/year. The business he was "trying to buy" doesn't make 250K, and he's evidently not trying to buy it. He's in arrears on his taxes (public records.) But, yeah, Joe is his middle name all right.

As to who should run the country, I'm willing to take your word for it.

  6. Now, you realize that one can be a plumber without a license, right? His taxes are not our business. Or would you like Obama's thugs to go through your records?

Is Obama who he says he is? That's the real question. How did he get into Columbia? Harvard? What were his grades? We know a lot about Sarah Palin after two months, but really nothing about BO, other than he's for change.

    I'd rather vote for Joe!

  7. You beat me to it! Whatever we know about Joe, it's because Barack Obama came down his street and Joe had the temerity to ask him a question! Whoever Joe is, whatever you think of him--he asked a question of the Great One and because of it, BO's thugs turned his life inside out.

And you were afraid of the Patriot Act! This is BO as a candidate--imagine how scary his "Patriot Act" will be!

  8. Who is Obama? That's a great question! We haven't heard from any friends of his--he's had to disown them all. Ayers, Wright. At the DNC there was no one to speak for him as a person. Any friends in the Senate? No, he hasn't been in the Senate long enough to make any friends.

Any friends of BO out there? Can you talk about it? Or are you afraid of his thugs going through your records too?

  9. Actually it was McCain who splayed ol' Joe all over the media, licking him like a lollypop. And it's not exactly that Joe's holding anything back or acting all offended; getting an agent, record deals, maybe running for office. Show me that it's Obama's "thugs." It's reporters, bloggers, digging into public -- PUBLIC -- records.

I'm not going to repeat myself on Joe's question and Barack's answer. We're still in the refractory period, evidently.

What we know about Palin is what's been dug up, from public records, also. She's never held a press conference, the first VP candidate in modern history to refuse to do so. And as information comes out, by REPORTERS (y'know, having a free and inquisitive and skeptical press is part of what keeps us safe. Like when they dug up all that stuff on Clinton, or did that offend you, too?) we are finding she's nothing like the person presented by McCain's campaign. For the bridge, for earmarks, against books, against transparency, an ethics violater. Do we have a right, a need to know such things about our potential leaders? And do you think there aren't people looking into Obama at every opportunity? Thugs, would you call them? Or is the term only applicable to people who find the truth about Republicans?

If you know nothing about Obama it's because you aren't trying. It's all out there: policies, plans, background. McCain? Maverick. Mavericky. Mavericky changer, like a maverick, changey. A mavericky POWy changey changer. Who loves America. Not it's people all that much, but America, by golly, he loves it more than you and me.

And because we've gotten into the typical trolling nonsense, and because you are repeating yourself and making me do the same, I'm happy to let you have the last word. Do your worst.

  10. Uh--that one's easy:

    http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/10/29/joe30.html?sid=101

    If the link doesn't work:
"Jones-Kelley made the revelations in a letter to Ohio Senate President Bill M. Harris, R-Ashland, who demanded answers on why state officials checked out Wurzelbacher."

"Jones-Kelly also has denied any connections between the computer checks on Wurzelbacher and her support for Obama. She donated the maximum $2,500 this year to the Obama campaign."

McCain discussed him as far as his question. The fact that you know about his tax records--his tax records!--is the result of an Obama supporter.

I think we should find out all about Palin and everyone else running for office. But how much did we need to know about her family? Were you proud of that? How about the demand for her son's birth certificate? We can't even see Obama's BC! What does Palin's son have to do with this?

I only needed to know that Clinton lied in court, to a judge, in order to deny someone a fair hearing. I didn't really want to know just how weird he was.

I remain anonymous...hoping to stave off Obama's thugs a little while longer.
