Every Little Bit...

  1. Dang, y'all had 3 Socialists to pick from. At least in the South we went to Votin' Machines like 50 years ago. Looks like you might have won our bet fair and square, Sid, but you know the Electoral College doesn't meet until December 15th, so theres still time for the Repubs to steal it. Remember 2000!

  2. I know you're excited about your win, Sid. I'll have to wait to sober up before I can gather up the good graces to congratulate you. It may take a while. Probably 4 years. In the meantime, pray that my financial success holds out in order to afford my tax hit so others who pay no taxes may enjoy the fruits of my labor. Be gentle, okay? I'm hurting right now.

  3. Lynn: I don't see it as "my" win. I see it as exactly what the country needs, and I'm sorry you feel the way you do. The "hit" you'll take (you must make a lot more than me) is only the hit you were taking during the most prosperous time in several decades. And I'm sorry you see it as some sort of wealth transfer to those who pay no taxes, which is no more true than the idea that he palled around with terrorists.

I have no sense of gloating. Relief from the past eight years, maybe; hope and trepidation for the next four, and recognition that we all will be facing extremely difficult times. I heard his speech tonight. I believed him. I hope you'll give it a chance. If he means what he says, it ought to be better for us all. Especially if those who agree with you will rise to the occasion and be willing to pitch in. I don't think we'll survive if you don't.

  4. Lynn, you sound pretty smart for an attractive blonde. Don't worry about the taxes, he's gotta pardon all those innocent Black guys on death row first, gonna take him 4 year to fill out the paper work just for the guys in Texas..And its not official until December 15th! I'm not makin that up, its in the Constitution. You'd think after what happened in 2000 they'd be a little more careful.

  5. Congratulations!!!! Spent the day in the OR with a consultant who threw a (blunt) instrument about everytime McCain had something go his way. I'm really glad it didn't go the other way, I wasn't wearing a crash helmet.

  6. Sid, at what point willl you write Drackman off as a troll. I have already done so. His comments shouldn't be dignified with thoughtful responses from you.

  7. I don't feel a sense of gloating either, Sid.

I feel hope. For the first time in over eight years.
