Money. Mouth.
During the interminable presidential campaign, John McCain was fond of saying, "I know how to get Osama bin Laden." Now that it's over, and in deference to those on the right who are demanding more bipartisanship, I think it's time for President Obama to reach out once again.
In the name of national security, and in the spirit of selflessness, Barack Obama must publicly announce that he is inviting John McCain to share his knowledge (privately, of course, so he won't "telegraph his punches") with the military. The announcement should include the statement that when the information has been provided, and when bin Laden is caught, McCain will deserve -- and receive -- all the credit.
I'll start holding my breath.

McCain's tried, but every time he calls BO launches into his explanation of how the surge won't work, and even though it has worked, it shouldn't have been done, since it won't work.
ReplyDeleteMcCain can't get a work in edgewise.
haha, it would be hilarious if president obama actually did that. he wouldn't of course, because that would make him no better than the gop.
ReplyDeletemccain's statement about knowing how to get bin laden is a clear example of him believing his own hype.

Did it hurt to hear BO admit that the war is won? Are you glad he didn't mention that if he had had his way two years ago it would have been lost?
ReplyDeleteAnd won't you be sorry when you realize that the terrorists started planning today to try to retake the country in Aug 2010, since BO told them the date in advance?
No, it didn't, because it wouldn't. Nor does it change the fact that invading Iraq was the worst policy mistake in the history of our country. Putting out a forest fire doesn't make setting it okay.
ReplyDeleteIf "the terrorists" (which ones, by the way) can't be prevented from "re-taking" (which terrorists had it before the invasion?) the country after what will be eight years of occupation and effort and help and blood and treasure, then when might they have? And does it matter that the Iraqi government itself has demanded the ending of the occupation, and the timetable? Or don't they have any say in the matter?
(Not to mention that your favorite terrorists will have to contend with the 50,000 person residual force that will be remaining. Maybe you need to vent your spleen at your pal McCain, who supports the plan. It's the Democrats who don't like it.)
