Good Question

Lost in the brouhaha over claims,
by a featured Christianist speaker (and undisavowed Perry supporter) at the Values Voters Summit* that Mormonism is a cult, is a sentence from the rest of that shameful bigot's speech:

Do we want a candidate who is a good, moral person — or one who is a born-again follower of the lord Jesus Christ?”

It's a stark choice, all right. Me? I'm going with "good, moral person."

* "Values Voters." I love it. Who isn't a values voter? Well, sure: hated, bigotry, know-nothingism, and intolerance are values by strict definition. But what does it say when the panoply of pusillanimous presidential panderers of a particular political party pucker near their perinei? Plenty.

  1. I hadn't caught that line. Sure sounds like he's presenting mutually exclusive options! Makes it a no brainer.
