Why I Might Not Survive This Election

“I think President Obama wants to make us a European-style welfare state,” said Romney. “Instead of being a merit society, we’re an entitlement society, where government’s role is to take from some to give to others. What I know is that if they do that, they’ll substitute envy for ambition. And they’ll poison the very spirit of America and keep us from being one nation under God.”

I simply can't read shit like that without wanting to shoot my computer.

  1. You'll have to forgive these folks, Sid; now that Democratic presidents are more or less traditional main street Republicans, the R's they can hardly figure out how to get out of bed in the morning. How would YOU like to pander to the Tea Party?

While I'm thinking about it, I believe your best post was the excursion in Vietnam wherein you saw the monkeys. I'll remember that one. I learned a great deal about medicine, for instance that cancers are usually hard. Your character sketches were always fun. You should consider recording more readings, the one I heard was more enjoyable than I expected.

Thanks for all the links as well. Without your newer blog I'd be yet more ignorant.

My resolution is to spend less time shooting my mouth off on blogs, so you'll be pleased with the improved tone around here.

    Happy New Year!

  3. I've actually shot computers Sid.
TV's too, which are my favorite, especially the old tube-style, with there exotic Noble Gases that would probably kick As-bestos Ass in a Carcinogen Fight.
Plasmas just sort of shatter and sit there, like when you throw a brick through a windshield, not that I've ever done that as far as anyone can prove...
Refrigerators are fun, but the effort to get it to the Shootin-Place outways any good feelings you get from letting Freon get back to Outerspace where it belongs...
Used Propane gas cylinders are fun, cause you can here the "Gong" when your round hits, the slight delay that you can use to calculate the speed of sound, and the "Ow" of your shooting companions when they get hit with the rick-o-shay.
