"We have now sunk to a depth at which re-statement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." Orwell
"Men are so simple of mind and so dominated by immediate needs that the deceitful man can easily find those ready to be deceived."
MachiavelliThe fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one... credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.
First thing I thought of after reading those articles was this:http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/26/stimulus-even-republicans-can-support-2/It sounds like a Romney style stimulus is in the works...a Romulus? a Stimuney?Seems like we're all Keynesians now.Regards,PT
Hadn't seen that, but, yeah, I'd been wondering when someone was gonna point out the military-spending-as-stimulus hypocrisy of the Rs. Also, I liked this quote of his.
P.S: I should have complemented you on your "Romulus" cleverness. Worthy of this blog. Of course, if you know your Roman legends, it's another way of saying Romney sucks.
Complimented. Not complemented.
