"We have now sunk to a depth at which re-statement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." Orwell
"Men are so simple of mind and so dominated by immediate needs that the deceitful man can easily find those ready to be deceived."
MachiavelliThe fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one... credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.
Then again, why should marriage be about monogamy?Karen
So Republicans like women....except for that creepy Larry Craig... and when the National Enquirer gets the photos I wouldn't be surprised if Governor Sanfords "Mistress" turns out to be a Mister...
Karen: fair question. I really don't care what these guys do in their private lives. It's only when they make a career out of "family values," "sanctity of marriage," and general public holiness that I think they deserve a kick in the ass for their hypocrisy.
If you are basing your politics on "family values". Proclaim that marriage is "one man one woman", then deal with it when the shit hits the fan because you couldn't stick with the ONE part.
Welcome back Sid - your commentary - on either blog - is great reading. Glad to see you here again.EugeneInSanDiego
What did Newt do?
Newt is on his third wife. He divorced the first (or was it second?) while she was in the hospital dying of cancer.
Oh..that's sad.I will add though... that none of us knows what goes on behind closed doors.
Yeah, but the issue in this case is all these guys like to tell others what they can and can't do behind closed doors. Newt was very righteous about Clinton, while he was doing worse. It's the hypocrisy of every one of these pious legislators, who want to "defend marriage." Laughable, if it weren't so damaging to other people.
I get it!!!!!!All these guys put together haven't drowned as many Women as Ted Kennedy.....Seriously Sid, are you as amazed as I am that old Teds still alive??? Maybe he's found the cure for Glioblastoma...Frank
