Oh, Man

Okay, I got these two videos from Andrew Sullivan. I think we now understand Michele Bachmann's rabid anti-gay activism; and, more to the point, that of her husband. Rekers, Haggard, Craig, Foley... I mean, really: how many of these examples do we need, to wonder what's going on here?

  1. "Displacement operates in the mind unconsciously and involves emotions, ideas, or wishes being transferred from their original object to a more acceptable substitute. It is most often used to allay anxiety; and can refer to the displacement of aggressive impulses or to the displacement of sexual impulses."

  3. When the religious Right insists that being homosexual is a choice, this is the kind of choice they mean.

You choose to go so far into the closet that you don't even recognize yourself.

You choose to marry a particularly sexless woman who mistakes your lack of interest for "respect."

You choose to white-knuckle your way through just enough straight sex to convince you both (conveniently, the missus believes sex is for reproduction only).

And you choose to pray away the gay--fervently, every night of your life.

and you know whats really Sad? The homofobic American Red Cross, that won't allow "Men who've had Sex with Men (Even Once!)since December 31st 1976 to donate blood products.
I mean even if 20% of Homosexual men are Hiv+, that means 80% aren't. The Red Cross oughta change there name to the "Red Crescent".
(Y'see in A-rab countries, they wipe with there left hand, women can't drive, and they call the "Red Cross" the "Red Crescent" cause they be Hatin' on Crosses.
