"We have now sunk to a depth at which re-statement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." Orwell
"Men are so simple of mind and so dominated by immediate needs that the deceitful man can easily find those ready to be deceived."
MachiavelliThe fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one... credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.
Hey Doc - this chart looks amusing, but is it a lost cause to hope for much more? Since the scales are log on both audio and electromagnetic scales they would seem to be linearly infinite. So no matter how many orders of magnitude our visual/audio spectrums cover they will I think always be miniscule relative to any given 'bigger' picture (actually very miniscule as it could be 1/second order infinite). Of course where we choose to draw the lines of our logic is another matter and physical barriers do arise, but they're probably not as amusing as the cartoon :)Glad to have found your blog again.
