World News

Well, even if George Bush has failed to create jobs here, it turns out he has made a difference overseas.

And speaking of overseas, Dougie sent me this:

Technical Notice

Dear World

The United States of America, your quality supplier of ideals, liberty and democracy, would like to apologize for its 2001-2008 service outage. The technical fault that led to this eight-year service interruption has been located, and the parts responsible for it were replaced Tuesday night, November 4. Early tests of the newly installed equipment indicate that it is functioning properly, and we expect it to be fully functional by mid-January.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the outage, and we look forward to resuming full service --- and hopefully even improving it in the years to come.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The USA.

  1. Sheer Genius!

Perhaps you're not aware of this, but there is a movement among women bloggers geared toward Inauguration Day 2009.

    They're calling it:

"Shave the Date. No Bush Left Behind".

Might be a good time to buy stock in Gillette.

  2. Greetings and salutations from the library in Rancho Mirage, California.

Sid, are you in the snow in Everett? Our neighbor told us we have ten inches of snow in front of our home.

Thanks for your "OUT OF ORDER" message to the world. Great stuff!

Peace, love and happiness for the season. The Unitarians in the Desert are having a non-religious vespers service tomorrow at 5 PM. Maybe I can drag my husband there... or not.

  3. The president does not create jobs.
The administration's economic policies encourage or deter businesses from creating jobs.

Your assertion that no jobs were created under the Bush administration is pure B.S.

The Labor Bureau statistics blow that assertion out of the water. In addition to those statistics, considerations of job losses from national disasters and attacks, economic crisis beyond the US, etc must be made - but it does not seem that you are interested in the real picture. Pity, really, because this leads to pipe dreams for the next administration. It is faulty economic reasoning like yours which leads to helpless homeless sitting on roof tops waiting for the feds to save them.

  4. Jan in TX: great to have another commenter who doesn't read. I see nothing here in which I claimed Bush didn't create any jobs. In this post, or anywhere else.

Send me some of whatever you're smoking. You seem to have been able to disconnect from reality, and god knows I wouldn't mind giving it a try.
