Supremely Religious

Everything that can be said about the Supreme Court throwing out Roe v. Wade has been said. Nevertheless, some points ought to be reiterated, if for no other reason than to confirm that America is now a theocratic plutocracy. And whereas there are, in theory, things that can be done about it, in practical terms there really aren’t. Theocratic plutocrats have locked it in.

1) Of the six radical-right Justices, five were appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote. The one who wasn’t likely got there by lying (because why would Anita Hill risk it all by making it up). So did at least two others, who, in their hearings, said Roe was settled. And it was only by way of Mitch McConnell’s staggering hypocrisy that the most recent two were seated.

2) Until now, no constitutional right, adjudicated and reaffirmed over a period of fifty years or any time-span, had been rescinded. If that’s not judicial activism, nothing is. If the Sacred Six hadn’t had a bought-and-paid-for political/religious agenda, they could have refused to hear the case. But their agenda is why they’re there. (Grammar lesson.)

3) If respectful discussion between people on opposite sides is impossible, both sides might agree that believing the “personhood” of a fertilized egg is indistinguishable from that of a twenty-week fetus is religious-based. Until now, there wasn’t a right to impose one’s religion on others.

4) At least one-third of pregnancies die in utero; some so early that the woman didn’t know she was pregnant; others at any time during pregnancy: miscarriages. And stillbirths. Not to mention babies dying from neonatal birth defects. If there’s an all-powerful God who knows us before we’re born and has a plan for us all, then He’s as guilty as people who provide or undergo abortion. Also, those who consider abortion at any stage murder, ought to be satisfied knowing that all participants will face celestial judgment. Given the preceding, though, they might as likely receive a heavenly high-five as a ticket to Hell.

4+) If, as many believe, the enwombed human lives ended by the hand of God make it to Heaven, so should innocent, humanly-aborted ones; which would be a reason to rejoice. (Question for another time: if fertilized eggs, fetuses, and babies go to heaven, do they become the people God knew before they were born? If so, why must the rest of us spend a comparative milli-micro-nano-second on Earth?)

5) Pro-choice demonstrations are useless. We can be sure at least three of the Supremes would drink liberal tears if they could, and Trumpists of the airwaves and in their homes love watching them.

6) Alito’s justifications for ending Roe were laughable. Foremost, that abortion isn’t mentioned in a document written on parchment by white, landed, mostly slave-owning men at a time when women and Blacks had no electoral voice. Second-most, that they merely returned the issue to “elected representatives” of the respective states. In which the will of the majority has lately been legislated away, aided and encouraged by the Court. Total cynicism. Proof: the same six just overruled a lower court that tossed Louisiana’s redistricting plan for violating the Voting Rights Act by eliminating a predominantly black district. They know the system is rigged: they’re the riggers.

7) The Sanctified Six don’t believe in religious separation. As shown by their decision favoring Bremerton’s most famous coach, who likes to make a show of praying, with his team, on the fifty-yard line, after games. Ignorant, evidently, of Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:5-8.

Writing for the majority, Justice Gorsuch lied, saying he “offered his prayers quietly while his students were otherwise occupied.” He also wrote, “The Constitution and the best of our traditions counsel mutual respect and tolerance, not censorship and suppression, for religious and nonreligious views alike.” “Mutual respect” and “nonreligious views alike.” What audacious disingenuousness. Their decision is the opposite.

In any case, school prayer is back. Let’s see if the halleluiahs extend to a Muslim teacher unrolling a prayer rug at halftime. Or leading their class in salah.

8) Nor do the Sanctimonious Six accept the Fourteenth Amendment. Wrote Justice Thomas in his concurrence, referring to the decisions that affirmed the right to birth control, LGBT rights, and same-sex marriage, the objections to which are, again, religious-based: “[T]he purported right to abortion is not a form of ‘liberty’ protected by the Due Process Clause … we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process [decisions].” At this point, let’s take the final step and criminalize non-belief. It’s only a matter of time.

Meanwhile, anyone who thinks the January 6 Committee revelations are changing minds should watch this video.

  1. @9:45 - @9:55 Stewart makes the point. We all know exactly what "the base" wants. All of them want the same thing. That's why the polling never changes. "The Base" is as named. That pile of shit don't move.

I've been saying the same thing for a long time and it's our only way out...Our, meaning 'mercah.

It's time to get progressives in office. It's time for the Democratic party to move on. Go back to the T-Party. None of those people are still around save one or two older folks. But it's pretty much fresh faces all around w/fresh ideas on old business. The Democrats? Not so much. It's the same people doing the same stupid shit over and over. That "base" is not much better for 'mercah than the alt right is. Dems do nothing when they have power and allow the other side to run over them while fund raising off the turmoil, secure in a gerrymandered district...Gee...Nice work if you can get it. One way or another the younger generations are going to tip the balance so heavily that it will be impossible to hold back the water once it's starts leaking. Hollowing out states is how the minority holds power. Make them unlivable for the average person. All the while getting federal welfare from blue states to meet those red states budgets. But yeah, the Dems., they are so smart. Right?

AOC is the future folks. Young libs and progressives are not going to stand by and let these people destroy their future. Not like the Dems of the last 50 years. To me they are nothing but spoiled brats who are simply in it to stay in power. There's no real "service" to us little people.

We had a shot. Bernie was the man. The dems. squashed him before he could win the nomination, not once(Hillary), but twice(Biden). 2 coups for the establishment Dems. and that's why so many are still here compared to the alt right.

On their watches this has been done and it was over a 50 year period. It didn't just fall from the sky into our laps. Me and many others have sounded the alarm since forever it seems. Yet nothing gets done even with a majority in both chambers and POTUS AND the PEOPLES WILL. Yet? NOT A THING BUT WORSE!

They ceded power to them and are still doing it. and oh boy...do not upset Prince Man-Chin. Oh Heavens to Dickens no...He won't do anything! But if you let him slither unnoticed. He won't do anything!

So what now? Like 65-70 votes we need now in the house and senate? We'll lose a few to bribes. Nice work to the people who were on duty. ALL of you.

  2. Here's why these people will never admit to being idiots. Even the ones who say it's a cult, still are the cult.

  3. This explains the past and present. It also gives us a view of our future.

    I can sum it up...

Because people settle and settle and get really comfy with American freedoms. So much so they do things like leave SCOTUS slots unfilled. The institution will protect us. We are all polite adults here right?

THAT is what America is truly built on. Ignorant politeness. look around...Tell me what has not been managed by ignorant politeness? There are no real rules to play by. Don't like the rules? Change them or ignore them. Move on to the next. Change or ignore, move along...And so on.

All the while people are pointing and saying "Did you see that?". We saw it coming and nobody cared. Time and again for 50 years. Nobody cared. They were all fat dumb and happy while the other team plotted their demise.

I've done everything I can to contribute to America in the most positive ways possible since I can remember. My brothers and I did the Jerry Lewis March of Dimes in the 2nd grade by myself. The whole thing, I just told Mom I was gonna do it, and I did. I got all the pledges myself. My family was too poor to support me. It was 15 miles back then in 1972. I did it in '74 too. All because I saw it on TV when I was 6 and remembered all year that the walkathon was coming.

Well, I have never stopped trying to pitch in where I can. I don't want any recognition so I keep it all quiet until I decide not to. Like today. I was 35 years old before anyone knew I was a Marine. I just never told anyone. It never came up because there was never a reason. Kinda like our government. All of this has been layed bare just recently.

Our govt. is built on polite promises and devious winks and nods. And as such, can be easily dismantled from within. Period.

  4. This is a fantastic 50 years of Reagan's union busting and Clinton's "work first" slave labor laws. Walmart now uses the Chinese (think WTO) and American welfare (entitlements) to pad profits. Monopolize everything. This is a great picture of what has happened to America as a result of all this wonderful capitalism at all costs theory of business and national growth.

I can't wait for the credit card company Frontline documentary! I hear it's how America is finally finished off for good. Besides...We bail out banks so they'll never die. Because it's good for America...Right? That's what's best for us. Because holding people responsible for anything is far worse than holding them accountable. Like yunno...Drumpf. Or a bank. Or any company really at this point. Just file bankruptcy and dump it on the kids. Fight 20 years wars on the kids tab.

As long as we are fooled into thinking that Walmart is good because prices low, we'll be slaves to the companies. Making "right to work" wages at a southern based retailer like Walmart. Now those same lemmings want union wages and bennies. It's too late for that.

    @12:50 - @13:30 sums it up.

Oh...and the tell of a liar is...Always looking left. Eyes darting left. Watch for that when you see people speak in this Frontline documentary. It'll help sort through the crap these people sling. You'll be able to tell the lies from realty very easily with that tool in this film.
