Future President


Good ol' Jeb, the "reasonable one" (in a world where words have no meaning), stakes out this position on our recent history of war:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) isn't interested in talking about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, especially as it relates to his brother, former President George W. Bush. 
"I won't talk about the past," Bush said on Friday when a reporter asked him about an upcoming foreign policy speech in Chicago, according to Bloomberg Politics. "I'll talk about the future. If I'm in the process of considering the possibility of running, it's not about re-litigating anything in the past. It's about trying to create a set of ideas and principles that will help us move forward."
"Damn right," his followers are no doubt saying. "That's telling 'em."

Because what's a better characteristic in a president than ignorance of the past? Nobody ever suggested that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, right? And it's not as if we need to learn anything from the worst foreign policy mistake in the history of the universe, right?

I can only hope that in the primaries, and, after he wins the nomination, in the presidential debates that will follow, someone will call him on it. Which, I realize, is about as likely as me waking up tomorrow and finding myself 40 years younger.

    Maybe someone will ask him about his role in getting Orlando Bosch a pass to stay in this country.

    Jeb frequently wrote his dad and brother pushing for whatever it is Jeb wanted. Some of those letters were pretty forceful.

    Voting machines that vote Teahadist when you actually wanted the liberal candidate. I have not heard of a machine rigged to favor the liberal. Only machines rigged to favor the Teahadist.
