The Decider

Another of George Bush's "legacy project" themes, in response to the fact that he leaves office as one of the most unpopular presidents, ever: "When you make tough decisions," he says, "you're gonna get criticized."

No, sir. Incorrect, sir. It's when you make WRONG DECISIONS!!!! ARRRGGGGHHH!!!! Get a frickin' CLUE!!!!

Is there a term for someone so free of the need for introspection, so unable to process facts that shine ill upon him? Narcissist seems too genial, egotist a collossal understatement. Seriously. The man has a defect in his thought processes. His meninges are armor-plated, rejecting any flow into his central nervous system of doubt, reflection, or self-correction. He's impervious to fact, unable to conceive of ever being wrong. There's gotta be a word for it.

As one who beat himself up if a bandage didn't look perfect, much less if a patient had even the tiniest surgical complication, it's literally beyond my understanding.

  1. "Extroïsing", I think my shrink would say.

Also sounds like psychopathic charactertraits - the inability to accept responsibility, projecting all blame.

"Archwanker" comes closer, but is probably too twee.

  2. Yeah, I was thinking psychopath myself -- no empathy, totally self-centered.

  3. The shrub is totally clueless, lacks empathy, doesn't care if he's "right" -- just knows he has the power to tell all of us to take a flying leap if we don't like it. Oh, he says the "right" words, but it's the slight smirk on his face while he's saying it that tells us all that he really doesn't give a s--t. It's done. What can we do about it? I do hope that he is impeached (I understand that this can be done even after he's out of office) and/or indicted. Waterboarding is too good for him...

  4. Jeez, Sid, you really do think you're God don't you? I got out one of my old Physiology Texts (actually looked it up on Wiki-pedia, havent bought a medical book since the FIRST Bush Administration) funny, I don't see "Sid Schwab" mentioned anywhere in the clotting cascade...

  5. He left a "bowel deposit" on his way out. Lysis of adhesions needed !

  6. Sid:
I was making an Ironic Allusion to your "Supreme Being" Complex, See, the joke is that you probably think you're step 7 or 8 in the clotting cascade...didn't they teach that at that fancy Ivy League School you went to?? Anyways, I'm Hosting "Surgexperiences" on February 1st, feel free to submit an essay on any Surgical Topic you want, there won't be any money, but when you die, you'll get total consciousness, which is nice,

  7. Oh I got the clotting cascade metaphor (Oscar Ratnoff was one of my teachers, after all); it's the context that's, well, Drackonian.

I hosted Surgexperiences once, too. Funny: I was paid handsomely.

  9. "I do hope that he is impeached (I understand that this can be done even after he's out of office)"

Oh yeah--and after he's impeached I hope he's convicted and...well, removed from office, which is the whole point of impeachment.

    Good thinking!

  10. "it's the slight smirk on his face"

Ahh--so here's how you "feeling and caring" people are pulling it off:

  11. The only Presidents in the last 50 years who didn't smirk were Nixon and Carter...Smirkings good...

For irony to be effective, one must possess/it must be delivered with humor and intellect. I've seen no evidence of either in your rants, wherever you may post them.
