An Undeniable Truth

"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

I'd forgotten about that quote from George Carlin. It's undeniable, and yet strangely reassuring: because there's nothing anyone can do about it, not even that most optimistic and delusional of activities, blogging. It will always be true. So dip your teabag and drink deeply.

I was reminded of it by a comment on another blog, which had a post about a comment, and included a most elegant response to it. Three degrees of commentary. Worth reading.

Ummmm well I guess "You're Stew-pid" is higher on the Alzheimer's scale than "You're a Doody Head"..
and strange that as someone who can even find humor in the Bho Phal Tragedy (don't ask) I never found George Carlin funny...
OK, maybe that Shit/Motherfucker/Tits/Cocksuker/Piss/Dick bit was funny before you could hear those words routinely on even Nikolodeon...
Seriously, I think it's time you quit blogging forever, i.e. 4 days again..

My father new a guy who said one day, "I must know everything. I can't think of anything that I don't know."

Laughed about that one for years.
