Logic

Just to show I'm really a bipartisan scold, I acknowledge, with shame, that many anti-vaxers are liberals. Maybe most, for all I know. Same with believers in all sorts of medical woo, like homeopathy and naturopathy, reiki and non-back-pain chiropractic. I can't figure it out, really, since in most other areas of science (and economics!), it's liberals who have their feet on the ground, able to tell fact from fiction. Anyhow, I find the above cartoon a highly amusing and to-the-point critique of what passes for logic among those folks.

  2. Actually when listening to talk radio, it seems to me that the majority of ads for medical quackery are aimed at the listeners of Rush Limbaugh and his ilk. If that's where the advertising money goes, that should tell us something.

  3. The only reason people don't get their kids vaccinated is they don't know the days when there were no such things. As the parent of a child who is deathly allergic to the pertussis vaccine, who had to get signed off by the pediatrician to go to school without the full round of those shots, her life depends on other people having common sense. She is immunocompromised, as well, and would give much to be able to take that one great risk away. Get your shots, people.
