This video needs no explication, except to point out, first, that Ted Olson is a strong conservative who defended GWB in Bush v. Gore; and, second, that it's a sober and straightforward response to idiots like Bill O'Reilly, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and the rest of the deluded and blinded RWS™ who see the decision as "judicial activism." It is, in fact, exactly the role of courts to prevent unconstitutional infringements on the rights of minorities, especially in these times of the peddling of hate for political gain.

I guess I should always include a parenthetical for you, Frank, explaining the point. In this case, what is and what is not judicial activism.
ReplyDeleteObama's views are irrelevant to the argument, although I guess it's important that he ended DADT and DOMA and is a strong supporter of gay rights, despite his personal religious views. Which is, you know, what used to pass for The American Way.

ReplyDeletemaybe its the second hand Nitrous, but according to my Wikipedia,
"DOMA IS a United States Federal Law bla bla bla......"
NOT "Was", "Is", as in still in effect, just like those laws that say you can't jerk off on a Roller Coaster.
and I know, He didn't want to offend the Signer of DOMA, the DOMA-in-Chief himself, who I still admire for gettin a BJ from a fat broad and not gettin divorced, much less impeached.

Okay, you're right. I misspoke, as Mitt said about poor people. Obama came out in support of repeal.
