Hey!
This is exactly what I've been saying. And it's absolutely, undeniably, disgustingly true:
The only thing exceptional about today's Republicans is that—almost without exception—they oppose everything that has made America exceptional in the first place.
It's an easy question: how long can a country stay "exceptional" when it refuses to pay for education, research, infrastructure, nurturing its kids? If enacted, that's
exactly what the Ryan/Romney budgets would do. How is it that teabaggers can't see it for what it is? Or, if they do, how selfish can they be not to care?
Over on the Twitter, reporting from https://twitter.com/RealTimeWWII/status/246639973212766208 some seventy-two years ago today, things were sliding into the abyss in Romania. The citizens all knew what was happening. They had a pretty good idea of what was in their future... but they mostly preferred the fantasy. People are still people.
