I think Barney makes a really important point, and it encapsulates the essential difference between Congressional Democrats and Republicans. When the country was in crisis, George Bush asked for help from Democrats, and got it. When Barack Obama approached Republicans, they shunned him at every turn, from the start and every day for nearly four years now.
One party trying to help the country, willing to work with the other side; the other, overtly and without apology, trying to prevent progress, unanimously, in order to claim their president is a failure. It's as obvious as a melting icecap, and yet people who claim to love this country are willing to overlook it and vote for the most cynical and obstructionist party in history. Simply amazing.
