Near the top of his never-ending panders to whomever he thinks might vote on a particular issue is Mitt Romney's claim that he'll increase defense spending to four percent of GDP. Not only would that trump Obama's planned defense spending by three trillion dollars, when matched with Romney's (and every R candidate's) pledge to lower taxes (not to mention balancing the budget like he says, but who knows what he really thinks), it'd require devastation of the rest of government.
But, hey, it's a dangerous world. Never can be too careful, right? And a few more aircraft carriers will keep away the suitcase bombs, fer sure.
