Cogito Ergo Sum

A couple of years ago during our annual Christmas visit to Iowa, I showed my then honorary, now legal grandson the great NASA composite photo of Saturn with the little blue speck that is the Earth, and read him Sagan's "The Pale Blue Dot."

I like to think that helped ignite the fire he now has in his belly to become a scientist. He doesn't know which field yet; he just started high school. I'm hoping to be his mentor.
